Lab Safety
Lab safety is the first and foremost thing to keep in mind when you get into lab. Even if you only do dry lab, you should learn all the safety rules in lab. Here is the link to our lab safety training.

Lab Notebook
Everyone should keep a good lab notebook.
- For wetlab research, you can either use a hard copy of notebook, or save an electronic notebook (with a timestamp functionality).
- For drylab research, you should always save your scripts, and document them well with comments so you can understand them when you revisit. Use Git/Github to version control or timestamp your scripts.
Ordering
Ordering reagents or office supplies are through our online ordering system. For purchases of items over 5,000 CNY (subject to change), please get a prior approval from PI.

Lab accounts
You’ll have to make accounts on these websites:
- Microsoft Teams – for lab communication. Ask to be added.
- Wechat Group – for lab communication.
- Mail List (ZhangYanxiao_work@westlake.edu.cn) – for lab e-mail communication.
- Github – Code Repositry, for sharing code within/outside lab.
- Slack – For lab communication.
- Onedrive – for sharing documents
- Trello – for managing your research projects.

Lab Meeting
Lab meeting presentation is a good opportunity to
- discuss research progress
- discuss problems you encounter (to get the crowd wisdom to help you troubleshoot)
- to practice presentation skills
Journal club
In journal club we will discuss recent papers from the relevant field.
